🎬 Film: A Journey to Apulia and Calabria with BioTropic

We again followed the origin of our Italian fruit and vegetables and took a few organic store owners with us on our trip, while employees of organic wholesaler Rinklin were also there. Our journey led us into the regions of Apulia and Calabria, two areas at the country’s “boot heel”. The favourable climate of the Mediterranean region provides for a long agricultural tradition in the area, as in winter the temperatures generally remain above freezing.

The group, made up of 18 people in total, visited three producer farms where tasty herbs, varied vegetables and aromatic clementines are grown. In organic quality, of course. Agricultural engineers Doris Thewes and Mauro Pinotti as well as purchaser and salesperson Romana Slusarek led the sightseeing tour. All three are employees of the Italian BioTropic office. Regina Kerz, head of the marketing department from the office in Duisburg, assumed the documentation in photography and film.

We met warm people, encountered a wonderful food culture and visited impressive cities. However, we could not overlook the signs of climate change.

You can discover more in our richly illustrated travel report with the journey route and the portraits of our producers, whose products you may already have had on your kitchen table.
Things become even more personal and eventful in the associated film (see above). Have fun!
