BioTropic goes to Sweden: Nordic Organic Food Fair in Malmö
Hej! On 1-2 November 2015, BioTropic GmbH will be exhibiting for the first time at the Nordic Organic Food Fair in Malmö, Sweden. The trade fair, which will be held for the third year running, is the only event in Scandinavia which specialises in certified organic food and drink.
The specialised trade fair in Malmö now comprises of over 200 exhibitors from 27 different countries. Among the exhibitors are key Scandinavian players, such as KRAV (the Swedish Organic Label Organisation), Menigo (a Swedish wholesale firm), Organic Denmark (the Danish industry association), and of course many more impressive companies and organisations from foreign lands.
The Scandinavian organic market has grown continuously in the last couple of years. There was a turnover of 3.1 billion euros from organic products in Scandinavia alone and the trend is increasing. According to a market analysis conducted by the independent market research company, Ekoweb, the increase in sales in the Swedish organic food segment in 2014 amounted to around 38 percent. In comparison, the German growth figures are rather small despite there being lasting growth, which amounted to an increase of around 4.8 percent in 2014 over the previous year.
