Beginning of the season for mangoes from Burkina Faso
Here we go again: we shall be receiving fresh mangoes from Burkina Faso in West Africa at the end of March. The crop was harvested not all that long ago. This year the first mangoes were picked by members of the Ranch du Koba smallholders’ co-operative in the second week of March. The harvest will probably last until mid-April. Only after that will mangoes be harvested in Mali or the Ivory Coast.
Our agricultural engineer Kuemkwong Siemefo is the project manager of the Ranch du Koba co-operative. At the beginning of April he will also drop in on Burkina Faso during his one-week Africa inspection trip. We await news of current developments there with excitement and we shall be reporting on them in due course.
