In the Dominican Republic, Easter and Christmas are the most important celebrations of the year. No Semana Santa (Easter week) would be complete without this Dominican dessert: Habichuelas con Dulce. A sweet cream of beans sprinkled with milk cookies.
March sees the start of the harvest of green asparagus from Italy – the season lasts until mid June. Asparagus is one of the vegetable varieties of which only the young and tender shoots are eaten. The green variety is particularly popular in southern Europe.
Our Africa manager Kuemkwong Siemefo had an important engagement at Ivoire Organics in Côte d’Ivoire this February: the installation of three more food dehydrators for drying locally produced organic mangos in Korhogo to the north of the country. This has allowed Ivoire Organics to expand its drying production, started at the beginning of 2015, and to now produce in a more effective and salable manner.
